How Does The Historical Graph Reflect the Raw Data?

The raw data collected by the Airthings Wave is processed into a plot that displays the Radon values over:

  • 48 Hours
  • 1 Week
  • 1 Month
  • 1 Year

The algorithm in the app interprets the raw data and builds a plot by smoothing out the noise and other fine-scale / rapid phenomena.

This is a trade-off, of course: the choice is between an accurate but less readable display of spikes and a smoother and more readable plot, at the expense of greater accuracy.

We have come to the conclusion that over the long term you should look at the overall picture, so the fact that you have a single spike per se doesn't mean much. What really matters is your average value over the longer term.
